Mark Your Calendars... the Beatles are coming to Greenwich!

That's right, the Beatles will be making an appearance in Greenwich, CT!
Cavalier Galleries is celebrating the Beatles with an exhibition of Harry Benson's iconic images, featuring his collection of photographs taken while traveling with the band from 1964-1966 during the height of Beatlemania! Ok, so admittedly the actual band will not be setting up their stage on Greenwich Avenue, but we will be hosting a reception with the famed photographer HARRY BENSON on Saturday, November 17th from 5-7 pm.

Throughout his remarkable career Benson has built a collection of images featuring  American presidents from Eisenhower to Obama, Martin Luther King, Jr., Queen Elizabeth, Winston Churchill, The Beatles, Mohammad Ali, Elizabeth Taylor, Michael Jackson, and Andy Warhol to name a few.  We hope you will join us for this extraordinary exhibition!

Exhibition: November 9 - December 3
Reception: November 17, 5-7pm

America's Favorite Pastime...

Leonard Everett Fisher Celebrates America's Favorite Pastime: BASEBALL!
at Cavalier Galleries new location in

the Starter
The inaugural exhibition at Cavalier Galleries’ new Manhattan location will feature the work of Pulitzer Prize winning, native New York artist Leonard Everett Fisher.  Fisher’s series of 11 paintings are a celebration of America’s favorite pastime: Baseball.

the Left Fielder
Baseball is the most widely played sport in America, and has been for centuries.  Before video games and television came to the forefront of entertainment, children throughout the country would pass the time by playing this much loved sport.  In Leonard Everett Fisher’s collection of paintings, the players are purposely not identified as legendary players or professional teams, but are each given a Greek letter, symbolizing their position in the game.  Having illustrated, and often authored, over 200 children’s books, Fisher’s distinctive style shines through as the story of a baseball game is played out through this delightful series of paintings.

the First Baseman

Leonard Everett Fisher was born in 1924 in New York City.  Fisher’s artistic studies included training at New York’s Heckscher Foundation with Moses and Raphael Soyer, as well as with Reginald Marsh at the Art Students League of New York, and Serge Chermayeff at Brooklyn College.  After serving in the army, Fisher went on to receive his BFA and MFA from Yale University, and in 1950 was honored with a Pulitzer Award for painting.  Leonard Everett Fisher’s paintings, drawings and illustrations can be found in the collections of the Library of Congress, the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of Postal History, the New York Public Library, the New Britain Museum of American Art, the Butler Institute of American Art, and the Society of Illustrators Museum of American Illustration.
